Assafora:
This is the village where Lua & Pine is located. It belongs to the county of São João das Lampas, Sintra. It is a rustic village, with a small population. Most of the houses are surrounded by vegetable gardens, big sheds, agricultural machines, mills, and gravel roads, which make their rural characteristics stand out.
Dos – Assafora has some places of interest, such as the village pound, the pine forest. Some of the village mills and fountains are still in good condition and are always a good excuse if you fancy a quick walk around the area. Beaches –
Eat: Here in Assafora, you can taste the cuisine of what the locals eat around here. We have two restaurant recommendations to give to you. Both serve traditional Portuguese food. The majority of the food menu will be grilled fish or meat, all fresh.
O Parcela – This restaurant brings a Rustic approach to its decor. Their food is exceptional, and their customer service is top-notch.
Ericeira: Located 5-10 minutes drive from our Quinta, this fishing village is a charming coastal town that offers a variety of activities for you to enjoy. From its stunning beaches and excellent surf spots to its historic landmarks and picturesque roads, there are so many things to do in Ericeira.
In 2011 Ericeira was approved as a protected world surfing reserve. It’s known for being one of Europe’s best surf towns, so it’s no wonder Ericeira is packed with surf enthusiasts of all levels.
To give it a try, you can book beginner or intermediate group lessons. We recommend the surf school “The Ocean”. We guarantee you will be in good hands. You can also hire private surf instructors or simply rent a board and wetsuit if you’re already confident in the water.
